Voya is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of personal information we collect, how we use it, and the steps we take to safeguard your data.

1. Collection of Personal Data:

Voya has no user accounts and does not ask for an email address, username or password. The data you enter in the app — trips, days and steps, places, accommodations, expenses and balances, checklists, documents you attach (PDFs, photos, links), cover photos, and the first names of the people you invite — is stored on your device and in your own iCloud account. We also collect basic device diagnostics (app version, operating system version, crash reports) through Firebase Crashlytics.

2. Purpose of Collection:

We collect this information for the following purposes: proper functioning of the application, synchronisation between your devices and with the people you invite to a trip, and fixing crashes.

3. User Consent:

By using our app, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information as outlined in this Privacy Policy.

4. Use of Data:

Your trip data is used only to display and synchronise your trips. We do not use it for advertising, profiling or tracking, and we do not sell it. We cannot read the contents of your iCloud database: it is stored under your Apple Account and shared only with the participants you invite.

5. Data Sharing:

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the third-party service providers strictly necessary to operate Voya:

• Apple iCloud (CloudKit) — storage and synchronisation of your trips, and sharing with the participants you invite
• Apple WeatherKit — the coordinates of your trip destinations are sent to Apple to retrieve the weather forecast (never your own location)
• Apple Maps (MapKit) — place search, map display and directions
• Unsplash — when you search for a cover photo, your search terms are sent to Unsplash to return matching images
• Firebase Crashlytics — crash diagnostics

Each of these providers acts as a data processor on our behalf and is bound by their own privacy and security commitments. Voya does not request access to your location.

6. Data Protection:

Your data is protected by your Apple Account and by Apple's iCloud encryption in transit and at rest. We take measures to ensure the security of your personal data and protect it from unauthorized access or use.
